Fall Garden Festival: Yards Beer and Salsa Competition
This Saturday, stop by the free Philadelphia Horticultural Society’s Fall Garden Festival for a chance to celebrate the harvest season with good food and great brews. Set up on the parade grounds of the Navy Yard, the 10 AM–4 PM event will feature activities for the whole family, including pop-up landscaping and planting shops, face-painting and even a play area for pets.
Yards will be operating a pay-as-you-go beer garden, serving ESA, IPA, Philly Pale Ale and Brawler. Drink vouchers are $4 each or 3 for $10, and $8 scores you a commemorative glass mug with your quaff. The brews will be complemented by à la carte eats from DiBruno Brothers, Georges Perrier’s Art of Bread bakery and several other vendors. At 10:30 AM, chefs David Boyle of Davio’s, Guillermo Tellez of Square 1682, and Lynn Rinaldi of Paradiso will judge a homemade salsa contest. Check out more details on the botanical bash on the PHS website.
