Women of Beer Dinner at MidAtlantic, Oct 25
Daniel Stern’s West Philly taproom MidAtlantic is celebrating two of the best things in life – beer and women – with a special October 25 dinner honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Tuesday evening affair features eight delicious food courses paired with 11 rare brews.
Plus, guests will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with several prominent women in the beer world. Carol and Jodi Stoudt – a certified professional brewer and huge fan of sour beers – will represent of Stoudt’s Brewing. Whitney Thompson is in charge of quality control at the always top-notch Victory Brewing, and accompanying her will be Victory’s communications manager, Karen Noonan.
The “Sly-Dog Gang” will be in the house, including the Beer Lass herself – Suzy Woods, currently with Allagash – along with Wendy Domurat (Dogfish Head) and Megan Maguire (Ommegang). Representing Rogue Ales will be Sebbie Buhler, a longtime member of the brewery and the face that graces the label on Rogue Chocolate Stout.
Tickets to the extravaganza run $150 per person, $50 of which goes directly to the Philadelphia chapter of non-profit breast cancer awareness org Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Expect to delicately grub on dishes like saffron poached trout, peppercorn-encrusted monkfish, dry-aged ribeye and a dessert of chocolate and caramel. Accompanying beverages include Dogfish Midas Touch and Hellhound on my Ale, Victory Otto, Allagash Curieux and Stoudt’s Apple Pie beer. Make reservations by calling the restaurant at 215-386-3711.
