Dress Like a Movie Star for the Film Festival's Closing Costume Party, Oct 29
Who doesn’t want to be a movie star? The closing night party for the Philadelphia Film Festival on Saturday, October 29, is your chance to shine. Nightmare on Twelfth Street will go down at Sigma Sound studios (212 N. 12th St – of course) from 10 PM–1 AM, and will feature a costume competition.
Whether you’re aiming to win Most Original Costume or Best Look-Alike, show up dressed as your favorite movie star and enjoy complimentary Bluecoat Gin and Penn 1681 Vodka drinks from Philadelphia Distilling, beers from Dock Street Brewery and wines from Barefoot Wine & Bubbly. Light snacks will also be on hand, as will your fill of coffee-superfruit-beverage Bai, and PYT’s own Tommy Up will be spinning tunes all night long.
The Festival’s closing night extravaganza actually begins over at UPenn’s Annenberg Theater at 7 PM with a screening of George Clooney’s The Descendants. Entrance to both the film and the costume party is $75 per person, or skip the movie and just come out to dance for $65. When you buy your ticket, you’ll receive a free pass to see one of the movies screened throughout the Festival, which continues through November 3. And don’t forget to look for The Dangerous Method, the Festival’s official cocktail, at finer bars around town.
