Thursday,  October 27

Pumpkin Head Riot

What:  Pumpkin beer fest
Where: Standard Tap, 2nd & Poplar (Northern Liberties)
When: 4 PM–7 PM, Thursday, October 27

Standard Tap is hosting their annual Pumpkin Head Riot. Come early to claim your mini-pumpkin for $15 with unlimited pumpkin beer refills.

Sierra Nevada Beer Dinner

What: Four-course beer pairing dinner
Where: Tavern 17, Chancellor & 17th (Rittenhouse)
When: 6:30 PM, Thursday, October 27
Price: $40 per person

Friday, October 28

Lunacy

What: Halloween party
Where: Cavanaugh’s Rittenhouse, 18th & Sansom (Rittenhouse)
When: 9 PM– 2 AM, Friday, October 28

Cavanaugh’s is turning the lights out for its “lunacy” party and illuminating the entire bar with black lights. A $15 open bar from 9–10 PM will quell your thirst and will be accompanied by a free food buffet, DJ and a costume party.


Saturday, October 29

Philadelphia Film Festival Costume Party

What: Costume party
Where: UPenn Annenberg Theatre 3680 Walnut St. (for movie screening), Sigma Sound Studios, 212 N. 12th St. for costume party
When: 7 PM–1 AM, Saturday, October 29
Price: $75

Who doesn’t want to be a movie star? The closing night party for the Philadelphia Film Festival on Saturday, October 29, is your chance to shine. Nightmare on Twelfth Street will go down at Sigma Sound studios (212 N. 12th St - of course) from 10 PM–1 AM, and will feature a costume competition.

The festival’s closing night extravaganza actually begins over at UPenn’s Annenberg Theater at 7 PM with a screening of George Clooney’s The Descendants. Entrance to both the film and the costume party is $75 per person, or skip the movie and just come out to dance for $65. When you buy your ticket, you’ll receive a free pass to see one of the movies screened throughout the Festival, which continues through November 3.

 

Sunday, October 30

Halloween Weekend

What: 80’s movie costume party  
Where: Varga Bar, 10th & Spruce, (Washington Square)
When: 9 PM, Sunday, October 30

Halloween Weekend at Varga Bar features an 80’s costume party with prizes for best and most creative get-ups. Great Lakes beer and whiskey will be on special as well as Flying Fish drafts in celebration of their brewmaster’s birthday.
