Celebrated each year on the third Thursday of November, Beaujolais Nouveau Day marks the international release of the year’s vintage all across the world. The area from 11th to Broad and Spruce to Walnut Streets will be transformed into a Parisian avenue, with accordion music and fluttering French flags. Almost all of the area restaurants are offering specials.
3rd Annual “Pints for North Light” festival
What: Beer tasting event/Fundraiser
Where: Manayunk Brewery, Main St. & Shurs Lane (Manayunk)
When: 7--10 PM, Thursday, November 17
In support of local non-profit community center North Light, Manayunk Brewing and sponsors are putting on a beer tasting and fundraiser. Taster tickets are $50 per person ($60 at the door) and grants you access to beers from: The Beer Yard, Dock Street, Evil Genius, Great Lakes, Manayunk Brewing, Ommegang, Sierra Nevada, Stone, Triumph,. Troegs, and Victory brewing companies.
Special VIP brewer tickets are $75 in advance ($80 at the door if supplies last) and include a 6 PM admission and access to select food and beer pairings.

Mad Elf Night
What: Troeg’s Brewing (partial) tap takeover featuring Mad Elf

Grey Lodge is kicking off the season right, tapping eight different Troeg’s brews including 2010 and 2011 batches of Mad Elf.
Saturday, November 19
2nd Annual Stout and Chowder Festival
What: Dark/Seasonal beer and soup tasting
Where: Independence Seaport Museum 211 South Columbus Blvd. (Penn’s Landing)
When: 5--8 PM, Saturday, November 19
Price: $60 general admission. $25 Designated driver, $5 off for 6 or more people
With Winter knocking on our door, it is time again for Rolling Barrel and the Independence Seaport Museum’s 2011 2nd Annual Stout and Chowder Festival. A $60 admission grants you access to the museum’s exhibits (before 5 PM), unlimited beer and soup tastings, a keepsake event mug, any other food or desserts and access tot he after party at Triumph Brewing in Olde City.
Be sure not to miss (or participate in) the Burly Beard Competition, judged by IFC’s Whisker Wars Myk O’Connor.
There is also $25 designated driver tickets and a group “six-pack” discount of $5 for parties of six or more. Proceeds go to benefit the Independence Seaport Museum.

Scotch Whisky & Aged Beer Salon with Jim Anderson

Co owner of Scotch Whisky and Belgian Beer Bar, The Anderson, Jim Anderson will be guiding a tasting of various Scotch Whiskies and a few select beers. Price is pay as you go.
