Thursday, January 26

Burns Night Whisky Supper

What: Whisky tasting and Scottish Cuisine
Where: World Cafe Live, 32st & Walnut (University City)
When: 8 PM, Thursday, January 26
Price: $42 per person

In celebration of the Scottish poet Robert Burns, World Cafe Live is hosting a scotch whisky tasting featuring single malts from Balvenie Distillery, Duffton Scotland. The tasting will feature four different selections, including: the 12 year Double Wood, 14 year Carribean Cask, 15 year Single Barrel and the 21 year Port Wood. Distillery representative Nicolas Pollacchi will be there to guide you through the tasting. Ticket purchases can be made here. To reserve seating you must call in at 215-222-1400.



Friday, January 27

Marks Colorectal Foundation Benefit

What: Fundraiser for colorectal cancer and disorders
Where: South Philly Bar & Grill, 9th & Passyunk (South Philly)
When: 9–11 PM, Friday, January 27
Price: $30 open bar

The odds are pretty good you were going to spend more than $30 at the bar Friday anyway, why not make sure half of that is donated to a good cause? The event is a $30 open bar with half of each ticket getting donated to the Marks Colorectal Foundation – an organization devoted to the research and treatment of colorectal cancer and disorders.


Saturday, January 28

Tap Kickoff Party with Victory Brewing

What: Tap takeover
Where: The Bottle Shop, 1837 E. Passyunk Ave. (South Philly)
When: 6–8 PM, Saturday,  January 28
Price: PAYG

Passyunk’s Bottle Shop is now home to draft beer, and to celebrate, they are filling the lines with brews from Victory. Saturday night is also Keep the Pint Night: for $15 you get unlimited refills and a pint glass.


Sunday, January 29

4th Annual Beef and Beer

What: Beef and beer fest
Where: South Philly Tap Room, 15th & Mifflin (South Philly)
When: 4–8 PM, Sunday, January 19
Price: $50 all you can eat/drink

Tap in to your gluttonous side and feast like a king (or queen) with a four hour all you can eat and drink  gourmet beef and beer event, beers available will be: Sixpoint Vienna Pale Ale, Dogfish Head 75 Minute, Sly Fox Chester County, Sly Fox Route 113, Dock Street Rye IPA, Manyunk California Dreamin’, Philly Brewing Company Newbold and Kilty Pleasure, Wyerbacher Hops Infusion, Victory Smokin’ Oats porter, and a sixtel of Troegs Scratch 55 double IPA.

Tickets can be purchased before hand at the restaurant or over the phone (215-271-7787).
