Yelp Backstage Pass Party

What: Party with free eats and drink
Where: Union Transfer, 1026 Spring Garden St.
When: 8–10 PM, Thursday, February 9
Price: Free (RSVP REQUIRED)

If you haven’t signed up for Yelp yet, now’s the time – with your Yelp RSVP (connected to an account with a real name), you’ll get in to this two hour bash, full of tasty sips and bites, with a DJ spinning to get the party going. Take the money you’re saving for the eve and put it towards the $10 donation to the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation they’ll be accepting at the door.

Mega-Bad Movie Night: Jurassic Park: The Lost World

What: Bad movie night
Where: Academy of Natural Sciences, 1900 Ben Franklin Pkwy
When: 6:30 PM, Thursday, February 9
Price: $15 general admission, $10 for academy members

Come out, have a beer, and enjoy Jeff Goldbum’s most riveting perfromance since The Fly.You must be at least 18 years old to attend (21+ to drink). Doors open at 6:30 PM for the reception, where you can feel free to check out the academy and paleontology display. The movie starts at 8 PM with comedic commentary.

Where: The Grey Lodge Pub, Franford & Hawthorne (NE Philly)
When: 6–8 PM, Friday, February 10
Price: PAYG

Any event where you can leave with a pint glass obtained through legitimate means is an event worth going to. Friday night buy a pint of Staropramen, a pilsner straight from Prague, and keep the glass you drink it in – limited to one per customer, of course.

Wines of the Continental Congress

What: Wine tasting
Where: Pinot, 227 Market St. (Old City)  
When: 3–4 PM, Saturday, February 11
Price: $29

Learn about, and taste, the wines of America’s forefathers.


Sunday, February 12

Valentine's Beer Dinner

What:
Beer Dinner
Where: Hawthorne’s Biercafe, 11th & Fitzwater (South Philly)
When: 6–9 PM, Sunday, February 12
Price: $75

This Sunday is Hawthorne’s four course, six beer, Valentine's dinner. Beers included are: LoverBeer Madamin (5.7%), Southern Tier Choklat (11% Imperial Stout), Anchorage Love Buzz (8% Saison), AleSmith Horny Devil (11% Belgian Strong) and Bells Two-Hearted Ale (7% American IPA). Reservation are required (215-627-3012).
