Unibroue Beer Dinner

Price: $40
Unibroue brewer Jerry Vietz will be in the house for a four course beer dinner featuring some rare, limited edition beers. Chef Townsend Wentz will pair the brews with with beer soup with oxtail; spotted skate with green apple-almond-ephemere; rabbit mortadella with truffles; and beef carbonnade with parsnips and marrow.

Drink Philly First Friday with Geekadelphia
This month, our good friends at Geekadelphia are taking over and curating all the art and music. Beverages for the evening will be Spaten and Franziskaner from Germany and Staropramen from the Czech Republic. Food will be provided by Old City’s brand new Bierstube, who are bring their addictive house-made pretzels as well as brats.

Philly Chili Bowl 2012
What: Chili competition
Where: Fleisher Art Memorial, 719 Catherine St. (South Philly)
When: 5:30 PM, Saturday, March 3
Price: $5
A mere $5 entrance fee gets you access to delicious chili from the contestants and beer courtesy of Narragansett Brewing. Three winners will be chosen around 6:30 PM from a panel of judges as well as a people’s choice voted for by you. Excess food and a portion of the proceeds go to Project H.O.M.E., a Philly non-profit association helping out the city’s homeless men and women.

Flower Show Specials with McGillin’s
What: Themed drinks and specials
Where: McGillin’s Olde Ale House, 13th & Chestnut (Center City)
When: Sunday, March 4 until Sunday, March 11
The Philadelphia International Flower show is in town again and in the spirit of this year’s Hawaiian theme McGillin’s is also mixing up themed drinks. Stop in anytime this week for Ma Mcgillin’s Hawaii Kai Fizzle (pineapple, lime, orange and apricot juices with light and dark rum bitters and homemade falernum), Aloha Mimosas, Kono Brewing’s Koko Brown, Ithaca’s Flower Power and more; free pot pies and fresh soup will also be available during lunch.
