Art Reception at the PA Academy of the Fine Arts

Marily Russel and the Violette de Mazia Foundation are putting on an art appreciation event featuring free wine, beer and hors d’oeuvre tastings. A six week art appreciation class will also be given away.

Ballast Point Tap Takeover
What: Event featuring draft beer from Ballast Point Brewing Co.
Where: Falls Taproom, 3749 Midvale Ave (East Falls)

Beers featured are: Big Eye IPA, Calico Amber Ale, Yellowtail Pale Ale, Even Keel, Pescadero Pils, Smokescreen, Tongue Buckler, Wahoo Wheat, Sextant Stout, Sea Monster Imperial Stout, Sculpin IPA and Bourbon Barrel Aged Victory at Sea.

Fun With Blondes
What: Beer tasting event featuring blonde beers
Where: Nodding Head, 15th & Sansom (Rittenhouse)
When: Saturday, August 13th 3-6pm
Price: Pay as you go
Featured beers are all brewed by Nodding Head. Selections include: Ich Bin Berliner Weisse (German style wheat beer 3.5%), Monkey Knife Fight (Pale Gold Lager 4.75%), Saison De La Tete (blend of a young Saison and a sour, barrel aged ale 6%), Keller Pils (Unfiltered Pils 4.75%), Gold hops (Golden Ale 4%), and Tripel Lindy (Belgian-style Tripel 8.5%).
Grey Lodge Goes Bollywood
What: Tasting event featuring IPA style beers
Where: Grey Lodge Pub, Frankford & Hawthorne (NE Philly)
When: Saturday, August 13th 7-10pm
Putting the “India” back in “India Pale Ale”, Grey Lodge is hosting a party celebrating IPAs from all over, including the much sought after Pliny The Elder. There will be music, dance numbers, and of course, plenty of beer.

Where: Nodding Head Brewery and Restaurant
When: Every Sunday, 11am-5pm
Every Sunday, Nodding Head hosts its brunch special starting at 11am with $4 Mimosas & Bloody Marys and live jazz. Other Sunday specials at Nodding Head include 5-7pm happy our with $4 beer, select cocktails and wine. Quizzo from 9-10 and a late night happy hour from 11pm-1am.
