Thursday, August 25th

Flip Flop Ball 2011

What: Fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House
Where: Cavanaugh’s Rittenhouse 18th & Sansom (Rittenhouse)
When: Thursday, August 25th 8-10pm
Price: $20 for 8-10pm open bar

Proceeds go to benefit the Ronald McDonald house; a charity for the promotion of children’s health. There is a $20 open bar from 8-10pm with a food buffet and prizes given out to the guest with the most creative flip flops.

Friday, August 26th

Rum-ageddon

What: Special on Hurricane Cocktails and raffle
Where: Rum Bar
When: Friday, August 26th 4pm-7pm

Join Rum Bar for $5 Walnut Street Hurricane cocktails! Each Hurricane you purchase will earn you a chance to win two ticket's to tomorrow's 1:05pm Phillies Games. Ticket giveaways will be held at 8pm, 10pm, and Midnight.

Brooklyn Brewing Co. Sampling

What: Free beer sampling
Where: Bell’s Beverage (2809 S. Front St.)
When: Friday, August 26th 4-6pm
Price: Free

Free weekly beer tasting at Bell’s Beverage featuring Brooklyn Brewing. Stop by anytime between 4pm-6pm!


Saturday, August 27th

Battle of the Canvas

What: Live painting competition and concert.
Where: The Piazza at Schmidts
When: Noon to 10pm

Dozens of artists will gather at noon to begin painting and competing for a $500 prize. Live music is scheduled throughout the day, and you can also enjoy the great outdoor seating at bars like PYT and Gunner's Run. For more information, check our article here!

Turn Wine into Water

What: Fundraiser promoting awareness for sustainable clean water
Where: Tria Wine Room 32nd & Walnut (University City)
When: Saturday, August 27th 3pm-12am
Price: $4-6 a glass

$.50 out of every glass of South African Ken Forrester Wines goes to raise money to bring clean water to impoverished African communities. Available wines are; Ken Forrester’s Sauvignon Blanc ‘09 ($4), Chenin Blanc ‘09 ($5), and Shiraz-Grenache ‘06 ($6).


Sunday, August 28th

Kegs & Eggs

What: Brunch Special
Where: Distrito 29th & Chestnut (University City)
When: Every Saturday & Sunday 11-2:30pm

Choose between your choice of four beers and one of four egg dishes for $10. There is also a $20 prefixed menu available.
