Philly Beer Week Dunkel Dare at Frankford Hall, June 5-6
It’s back! The most awesomely outrageous event of Philly Beer Week is returning in 2013 and it’s better than ever. Dunkel Dare will take over Frankford Hall on Wednesday, June 5, and Thursday, June 6, with the one and only Marc Summers as host, and you’re invited.
Each evening starting at 7 PM, four breweries will battle in Double Dare style competitions. Last year’s challenges included a beer funnel fill (from the opposite side of the table), an blindfolded egg catch, a squirt gun candle extinguishing race and a ton more antics.
Stoudt’s, Yards, Victory and Great Lakes Brewing are this year’s lucky competitors. The first evening will have two games and the winners will face off to be crowned champions on the second night. New this year is a the Hopstacle Course, which promises to bring even more hilarity to the evening. Props for the event are being built again this year by Franklin Instititute.
Guests are welcome for both nights — beer will be pay as you go (but look for some specials) — and there will be TVs streaming the show throughout the entire bar, so there won’t be a bad seat in the house. The contest will also be streamed to TVs next door at Fette Sau, so if you can’t get into Frankford Hall, head next door to watch the fun while noshing on smoked meat (and drinking more brew, of course).
Check out our recap video from last year, and make plans to head to Fishtown on June 5 and 6.
