Boulevard Brewing Company Taps Into the Philly Market For the First Time in September
One of the country’s most respected craft brewers, Kansas City, MO’s Boulevard Brewing Company will soon be available for the first time ever in the Philadelphia region.
A rep for what’s arguably the Midwest’s most recognized craft brands tells Drink Philly that thanks to new distribution deal with distributor Muller, Inc. the brewery's beers should begin showing up on tap lists and beer store shelves as soon as September 3.
Keep your eyes peeled for brews like Single-Wide IPA, an American-style IPA boasting a heady combination of six varieties of hops — Zeus, Bravo, Cascade, Centennial, Simcoe, Citra; Unfiltered Wheat Beer, the brewery’s most popular offering, an easy drinking American-style wheat beer with natural citrusy flavors and a distinctive cloudy appearance; and Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale, a Belgian-style farmhouse ale from the brewery’s wildly popular and critically-acclaimed Smokestack Series that puts forth fruity aromatics, grapefruit-hoppy notes and a peppery, dry finish.
To celebrate the local launch, Boulevard Brewery reps will organize a week-long series of tastings and events in and around Philadelphia in October. In the meantime, London Grill will pair Boulevard's brews with Kansas City style barbecue on Saturday, September 6 from 12 PM - 6 PM as part of its annual Great American Craft Beer Crawl. Stay tuned for more details on more events coming soon.
Boulevard Brewing Company was founded in 1989 in a turn-of-the-century building on Kansas City’s historic Southwest Boulevard. From that location, Boulevard founder John McDonald grew the company into one of the largest breweries in the United States before selling everything to Duvel Moortgat in 2013. Muller Inc. also distributes Boulevard’s sister, and Duvel Moortgat’s other US-based brewery, Brewery Ommegang, of Cooperstown, NY.
