Where to Celebrate Valentine's Day 2018 in Philadelphia
Love is in the air in Philadelphia! Or is that just leftover Super Bowl ecstasy? Either way, Valentine's Day is right around the corner and whether you’re flying solo this year, plan on only celebrating Galentine’s Day, or have a special person in your life to enjoy the day with, here are the best happenings for lovers in Philadelphia on Wednesday, February 14.
 
Visit one of Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran’s diverse restaurants Barbuzzo, Little Nonna’s, Bud & Marilyn’s, Jamonera or Lolita this Valentine’s Day for special prix-fixed menus. Menus range from $50-$65 per person and each menu is available when you click the restaurant links above. (S 13th Street)
 
Spoil your honey with a special evening at Aqimero in the beautiful Center City Ritz-Carlton. For $85 guests can enjoy a four course meal along with a vintage Moet & Chandon Champagne toast and roses. This special will be offered February 10, 14 and 17 from 5 PM-10 PM. Additionally, on Valentine’s Day the restaurant will be offering a decadent chocolate buffet for $45. (10 Avenue of the Arts)
 
Spend V-Day at on of Philly’s meatiest restaurants with a three course prix-fixed dinner. For $65, first course options include seared scallops and foie gras and a roasted mushroom, spinach and ricotta tart; second course options include lobster pappardelle, braised beef mojo shortribs or grilled veal cutlets; and the dessert course options are a vanilla bean creme brûlée or a chocolate chip cookie with Nutella and vanilla bean ice cream. On Friday, February 16, join Drink Philly at the National Museum of American Jewish History for a Wine & Chocolate Social featuring some of the area’s best sweet treats and boozy delights. Sample chocolates and sip on wines in a wonderfully unique setting. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased here(101 S Independence Mall)
 
Unable to get away this Valentine’s Day? No worries—Jet away with this South Street bar’s wanderlust-inspired dinner paired perfectly with international wines. Special menu items include sea scallops with a grapefruit gastrique and bacon, lamb sliders with pomegranate glaze and spicy slaw, charcuterie and artisanal cheese plate, and wine flights for $14.  (1525 South St.)
 
Valentine’s Day drink and food specials await at Graduate Hospital’s newest restaurant Keen. Menu additions include housemade gnocchi in blush sauce and lobster Thermidor and flank steak surf & turf served with rice and broccoli. Drink specials include $30 bottles of Champagne and the “Hearts on Fire” cocktail made with Chambord, spicy lime juice, raspberry sorbet and topped with sparkling rosé. (1708 Lombard St.) 
 
Enjoy a luxurious dinner at Center City’s seafood and steakhouse with menu additions running from February 10-18. Menu items include filet mignon with lobster scampi and asparagus; Florida grouper PEI mussels, fennel, fingerling potato, and Pernod citrus broth; strawberry butter cake with vanilla ice cream; and the “Blueberry Crush” cocktail made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, lemon, simple syrup and club soda. Gather your gals for a Galentine’s party to support Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania. Tickets for the event, which is on Tuesday, February 13 from 5 PM-7 PM, are $5. There will be happy hour priced drinks and snacks available and $1 of every drink purchased will be donated. (116 S 11th St.)
 
Spend your Valentine’s Day in style on a boat cruise on the Spirit of Philadelphia that includes dinner, drinks and dancing on either Saturday, February 10 or Wednesday, February 14 or Saturday, February 17. Ticket prices vary, reserve online(401 S Christopher Columbus Blvd.)
 
Take your love out to Square 1682 for a $65 three course prix-fixed meal (including a glass of Champagne!) with an optional $35 wine pairing. The menu features delicacies like tuna tartare, lobster tagliatelle, 28 day dry aged NY strip, black sea bass and red velvet trifle. (121 S 17th St.)
 
This Headhouse Square restaurant will be offering a sharable four course meal for $55. The menu includes an amuse bouche of cheese fondue; first course options like grilled baby octopus and Louisiana crab toast; second course options of burrata and scallop crudo; entrees like crispy branzino and duck breast that come with sides like Mac & cheese and pickled cauliflower; and dessert course includes options like red velvet lava cake and broken heart donuts. (509 S. 2nd St.)
 
Treat your sweetie to a night of skating on the Delaware Waterfront because nothing says “I love you” more than catching someone right before they fall on the ice. Tickets for the special skate costs $25 and include ice skate rental, chocolates, flowers, keepsake photos. A DJ that will be taking special requests will be on site so you can request “your song”. Skating sessions are at 7 PM and 9 PM. (101 S Christopher Columbus Blvd.)
 
Romance awaits on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway with special V-Day inspired cocktails and menu additions including cocktails that can be shared like the “His and Hers” (Hers: Bulleit rye, lemon, Luxardo, raspberry & His: Bluecoat gin, Crème de Violette, Lillet) and the “Purple Heart” (Hendrick’s gin, hibiscus, lemon and prosecco). Menu items include shellfish bisque, prime Beef Wellington, king crab legs and espresso affogato. (1850 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy.)
