The first ever
Philadelphia Cider Week is being celebrated this year from Tuesday, October 23 through Wednesday, October 31. The week will feature curated events from some of Philly’s best bars and restaurants all featuring artisanal ciders from orchards around the world. Here are some of events to attend during this exciting week, we’ll be updating the article as more events are listed.
Tuesday, October 23, 9 PM-12 AM
Toast to the beginning of Philly’s first ever Cider Week at Prohibition Taproom’s kickoff party. There will be a menu of special 5oz pours of farm-driven ciders usually only available in large format bottles and samples of gluten-free fried chicken. (501 N 13th St.)
Wednesday, October 24, 6 PM-9 PM
Lost Bread Co
Enjoy a seven course dinner expertly paired with seven ciders from Vermont’s Eden Specialty Cider. Each course will also include cheeses that highlight the cider’s flavor profile. More details and ticket info will be announced soon. (1313 N Howard St.)
Friday, October 26, 3 PM-7 PM
Di Bruno Brothers Rittenhouse & Franklin
Stop by Di Bruno’s in Rittenhouse or Franklin locations for some free samples of Vermont’s Shacksbury Craft Cider paired with some great cheeses. (1730 Chestnut St. & 834 Chestnut St.)
Saturday, October 27, 4 PM-7 PM
A special weekend happy hour with live music from Chuck Darwin and the Knuckle Draggers awaits at this Queen Village restaurant. They’ll also have cider from PA’s Ploughman on draft and by the bottle along with a special apple-centric food menu available after 5 PM. (743 S 4th St.)
Sunday, October 28, 7 PM-10 PM
The folks at Cinder, Copper & Lace are bringing Adam’s County, PA to Philadelphia for one night featuring three of the area’s cideries (Big Hill, Jack’s and Ploughman). Expect a completely terroir-driven menu with 100% of the ingredients sourced from Adam’s County. More details to be announced soon. (1500 Locust St.)
Monday, October 29, 6 PM-8 PM
Head to Martha in Kensington for a special edition of Martha Monday featuring Boyertown, PA’s Frecon Cidery. Free samples of farm fresh cider will be served as well as free snacks, as well as half priced draft ciders and cocktails. (2113 E York St.)
Wednesday, October 31, 12 PM-7 PM
It’s the last day of Philly Cider Week and what better way to celebrate than with a cider crawl at all three Tria locations. A different cidery will be highlighted at each location and there may even be some spooky surprises like bobbing for apples. Details about featured ciders coming soon! Wednesday, October 31, 7 PM-12 AM
The event inspired the first PCW is back and better than ever. On Halloween night they’ll close down the restaurant for a special cider bonanza featuring two cider bars and guest chefs making small plates for purchase. Full cider and chef lineup to be released soon. (1310 Frankford Ave.)
