Love is in the air in Philadelphia! Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and whether you’re flying solo this year or have a special person in your life to enjoy the day with, here are the best happenings for lovers in Philadelphia on Thursday, February 14.
 
Sip on Allagash beers paired with Di Bruno’s delicious chocolates and cheeses at this romance filled tasting. For $40 per person (or $70 per couple) guests can enjoy 5 of Allagash’s best beers, a spread of cheeses and chocolate, live music, live illustrations and best of all a take home goody bag with a 20% off shopping coupon. Not too fond of Valentine’s Day? Bring a picture of your ex to Philly’s newest food hall and shred it at the Bar by Bluebird Distilling. Anyone who shreds a photo will receive a complimentary Clover Club cocktail (Bluebird Juniperus Gin, lemon, egg white and raspberry syrup). TAPS Fill Station will also be offering $5 pours of their Schwarzbier (black beer) all night. If you are a fan of all the chocolates and flowers, you’re in luck because Bonatsos’ Flower Shop and Chocodiem are offering special chocolate and flower bundles for you to take home to your sweetie. (111 S Independence Mall East)
 
Keep it low key and low priced this Valentine’s Day with this hotel bar’s extended happy hour. Sip on $5 craft beers, $7 wines and $8 classic cocktails like margaritas, negronis and old fashions from 4:30 PM until close. They’ll also be offering a variety of $5 small plates like mini grilled cheeses, calamari and baked ricotta to treat yourself to. (20 S 33rd St.)
 
On Friday, February 15, join Drink Philly at the National Museum of American Jewish History for a Wine & Chocolate Social featuring some of the area’s best sweet treats and boozy delights. Sample chocolates and sip on wines in a wonderfully unique setting. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased here(101 S Independence Mall)
 
A delicious evening awaits at this Garces seafood spot. For $55 each, enjoy a four course dinner for two including dishes like shrimp cocktail, raw oysters, scallop gratin, lobster, wagyu steak and chocolate mousse. (125 Walnut St.)
 
Spend your Valentine’s evening solving crime at this Independence Mall restaurant’s murder mystery dinner. For $90 each guests will enjoy a three “corpse” meal with beer and wine pairings along with an interactive crime solving performance. The dinner will take place from 7 PM-10 PM and tickets can be purchased here. (433 Chestnut St.)
 
Celebrate Valentine’s Day a day early at this Old City brasserie. For just $25 guests will get enjoy “Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder” an evening of burlesque performances, hors d’oeuvres and one complimentary absinthe cocktail. Event starts at 8 PM. (52 S 2nd St.)

Set sail on Valentine’s Day aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia with either a champagne dinner cruise or a mimosa lunch cruise. All cruses include a three course buffet menu, live music, and drinks. For just $45 you and your lover (or hater) will get an hour long axe-throwing session as well as a few complimentary drinks. As always Urban Axes is BYO wine and beer. Treat your sweetie to a night of skating on the Delaware Waterfront because nothing says “I love you” more than catching someone right before they fall on the ice. Tickets for the special skate cost $25 and include ice skate rental, chocolates, flowers, and a keepsake photo.
