Brauhaus’ Oktoberfest celebrations continue this Thursday with a Bratwurst eating contest. The number of contestants is limited to the first twenty to arrive, so get there early if you are brave enough; or grab a beer and settle in – there’s no way this event will disappoint.

Smoke ‘em If Yous Got ‘Em
What: 3rd Annual Smoked Beer Festival
Where: Yards Brewing Company, Delaware & Poplar (Fishtown)

Yards’ third annual rauchbier fest will feature thirty different beers from more than a dozen breweries. Price of admission gets you access to unlimited brew samples, food from contestants, live music and a commemorative glass.

This Saturday is the Khyber Pass Pub’s “Rye Beer Fest”. The Old City pub will be serving up some great brews from Sixpoint, The Bruery and Founders; as well as their always available menu of Rye Whiskeys.
Oktoberfest Street Festival

Brauhaus Schmitz’s week long Oktoberfest celebrations culminate this Saturday in an all out German block-fest party. The 700 block of South St. will be shutdown and filled with tents, music, beer, wurst, roasted pig and much more.

Vendemmia Wine Festival

It's the 15th year for this South Philly Italian festival. Come out to celebrate local winemaking at harvest time while raising money for community scholarships. There’s also a home winemaker competition.
“Friends of Hawthorne’s” beer dinner

The folks over at Hawthorne’s have set up a three course dinner and beer pairing with New Belgium Brewing. Beers featured are: Somersault - American Blonde Ale (5.2%), Fat Tire - Amber Ale (5.2%), Ranger - IPA (6.5%), Mothership Wit - Original Wheat (4.8%).
