Happy Hour Crawl: Fishtown |
Frankford Hall (1210 Frankford Ave; 215-634-3338; 4-7 PM Tu.-Fri.)
After the first two stops on our crawl, you hopefully have maintained a moderate level of coordination. Frankford Hall’s happy hour selection is a mix of quality and quantity — mulled wine, hot cider, and all hal-liter drafts are $5. Full liters for $10. Take your behemoth of a drink back to your table and start up a game of Jenga or dominoes with your crowd, or move to one of the ping pong or fooseball tables to prove your worth.
Did all those games make you work up an appetite? Bavarian pretzels are $2 and sausages are $3. And since it is a Steven Starr restaurant, there is no need to worry about quality for anything that Frankford Hall has to offer.
The industrial feel of Barcade is reflected here at the Hall with its high ceilings, exposed brick, construction lamps and large windows. The long wooden tables here are reminiscent of a German beer garden, especially in the outdoor seating area. Step outside and pull up a seat at one of more than a dozen banquet tables. The open-air garden is equipped with its own ping-pong tables (weather permitting), fire pits and its own bar. The games were fun and that fresh air felt great, but it’s time to take a stroll further into the depths of Fishtown.
